短语的用法17. spend time (on)花费时间
用法：spend time (on)表示“花费时间做某事”，后接动名词，介词on可以省略。
例句1：No one is willing to spend time doing some boring things.
谁也不愿意花费时间做一些无耻的事情。
结构分析：No one是主语，is willing to spend是谓语，time是宾语，doing some boringthings是-ing式词组作宾语补语。
18. that is to say即，就是
用法：that is to say在句中通常作插入语，与in other words同义。
例句1：That is to say, every player who has been eliminated still has a chance to participate in the resurrection.
也就是说，每一个被淘汰的选手仍然有一次参加复活赛的机会。
结构分析：That is to say是插入语，every player who has been eliminated是主语（who has been eliminated是定语从句），still has是谓语（still是状语），a chance是宾语，to participate inthe resurrection是不定式词组作后置定语（to+participate in是动词词组+ the resurrection是名词词组作宾语）。不定代词every修饰的名词作主语时，谓语要用单数形式。
